I own version 4.7 since 2007 and I had been using it just to produce one type of bar code (UPC-A) for my packaging designs for the past 5 years. Back then it was $150 and I could deal with that. Recently I was planning to upgrade and I was SHOCK to find the price tag is $300. I am a freelancer and I find this price tag is just incredibly unacceptable. Most people just use it for one thing or two repeatably. I would be nice if you can make other type of bar codes as an add-on which makes more sense. I can see myself justifying Adobe Illustrator for $600 because it matches the price for what it does. But Barcode Producer at $300? Not good! I will keep my current version until it stops working on my latest OS, then, I look somewhere else.

Best UI of the apps I've had a look at. Easy to use, intuitive and nice looking.
But Barcode Producer's number of codes is quite limited, it even cannot create QR codes. And then there's the ridiculously high price ...

I was using Mac Barcode label until I tried the demo for this. Since my client was paying for the program (I have no use for it other than product packaging), price wasn't a big issue. This application rocks! The Help me choose button is a time-saver, especially with the myriad barcode formats out there. It does everything you could possibly want and a few things you didn't know you needed. Keep up the great work (but work on the price so other people who are cash-strapped can use it!).

This is a great little program to create professional barcodes. The reason it does not get five stars is because it's so very expensive for a one trick pony. I was able to get my client to pay for it but I personally wouldn't have. There are other limited free barcode programs and you can make them yourself for free with the correct font. However these alternatives are not as fast, flexible and easy as BP.
I would value this at about $75. I would also be willing to bet 2 to 3 times as many people would pay for it at that price as well.
