Quake II overview
This is the source code for the MacOS X port of Quake 2. The port was originally released on MacOS X 10.0. The goal was to create a carbon-less native port that would not rely on any legacy APIs.
Note: This is not a game itself, but a way of playing Quake 2 on modern machines. You still need to have an original version in order to play.
What’s new in version 1.1
Version 1.1:
- Recompiled as Universal Binary.
- Redesigned startup dialog.
- Optimized the software renderer for windowed modes.
- Windowed modes (software renderer) are now resizeable.
- The game will renderer inside the Dock document icon (instead of the application icon) if minimized.
- Screenshots are now saved in PNG format.
- Minor bug fixes.

Twice now in the last month (most recently about an hour ago) launching Quake II has caused my MacBook to spontaneously restart. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I've got an original MacBook, 1.83ghz, 2gb RAM and I'm running 10.5.4.
Knowing my luck it's my hardware. :)

So I've got a few QII add-ons (Reckoning, Ground Zero and Juggernaut). Does anyone know how to use them with this application, or do I need to boot into Windows to use them? I can't find any information at all on how to use them.

umm... i doesnt work, it doesnt come with the "xxx", the Quake II and the baseq2 folder! can someone help me?!?!
