What’s new in version 2.2
- Upgraded search backend. This is something that's been on my wishlist for ages - the new system is a much more stable and searches will be faster
- A number of UI fixes, the main one being a issue that prevented some users from logging into their accounts
- Fixes to the Open-with feature. As a reminder you can right-click any pdf on your computer and open with Selectric to ask questions. This works much better for Pro users with larger models. This got deprioritized in recent weeks but we finally shipped some love there!

Super useful app. I use it to quickly find old emails and file attachments from my Gmail inbox. I have 20 years worth of email history but I usually get the exact mail I’m looking for in a few seconds

I installed Selectric full of excitement and hope on an Apple MacBook Air M2, MacOS 15.0.1 with t 1TB SSD and ca. 630 GB of apps and data. Selectric began indexing at rather high CPU usage. The MacBook became pretty warm in the process, too. After 24 hours of indexing I ran a couple of searches and the sparse results compared to Spotlight's indicated that still a lot of indexing needed to be done. GPU temperature had risen to ~100 deg C. I force-killed the process and uninstalled Selectric.
