I don't know why this page is stalling when one attempts to add "Similar apps". But here is what I use regularly in addition to StopTheMadness. (Note that some of these are not available for Safari, sad to say): [1] Adblock [2] Adblock Plus [3] uBlock Origin and uMatrix (abandoned on Safari, sad to say) [4] AdGuard [5] Malwarebytes Browser Guard [6] DuckDuckGo Privacy [7] Privacy Badger (not available for Safari) [8] 1Blocker - Ad Blocker (vs the other "1Blocker") [9] minerBlock [10] HTTPS Everywhere [11] Canvas Blocker [12] Disconnect (occasionally only, as it is very strict) [13] NoScript (again, only occasionally). - - There are obviously plenty of other choices with which I'm unfamiliar. I will add that I DO NOT use Ghostery, which blew its reputation years back by collecting user data. Always check the history and reputation of addons. - - Of course, security ALWAYS requires that we make regular BACKUPs, both local and off-site (the #1 Rule of Computing!). - - I also use two different but compatible anti-malware apps, a 'reverse firewall' to stop callouts, and a top quality VPN. Of these, there are many worthy choices.
