phone app is great but the electron-based desktop app is non-performant. It just sits there and takes 2 minutes to respond to a click. V2.0 wasn't like this. 2.4.1 sucks.

Just received an email saying "On March 19, 2024, we will no longer support the Twilio Authy Desktop apps". 😲 I've been a happy Authy user for a few years, but not having a smartphone (yes it's possible 😉) means either abandoning 2FA or switching to an alternative. I've just installed the authenticator.cc add-on (Chrome, Firefox and Edge), I still have to recreate my accounts there...

If/when the download link throws an error, you can find a working Download link here: https://authy.com/download/ - - If/when that link button acts inert, reload the page. Their web code is a mess.

Very useful app to add a layer of security to your connections to Amazon, Dropbox, Facebook, Paypal, etc. If you don't know yet what is 2FA, it's easy to setup on those sites, then Authy is perfect.
