LibreWolf overview
This project is an independent "fork" of Firefox, with the primary goals of privacy security and user freedom. It is the community-run successor to LibreFox
LibreWolf is designed to minimize data collection and telemetry as much as possible. This is achieved through hundreds of privacy/security/performance settings and patches. Intrusive integrated addons including updater, crash reporter, and pocket are removed too.
LibreWolf is NOT associated with Mozilla or its products.
Features
- Latest Firefox - LibreWolf is compiled directly from the latest build of Firefox Stable. You will have the the latest features, and security updates.
- Independent Build - LibreWolf uses a build independent of Firefox and has its own settings, profile folder and installation path. As a result, it can be installed alongside Firefox or any other browser.
- No phoning home - Embedded server links and other calling home functions are removed. In other words, minimal background connections by default.
- User settings updates
- Extensions firewall: limit internet access for extensions.

Q) Why does LibreWolf FAIL to run on macOS? ""LibreWolf.app" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the trash." - - A) Because the dev's refuse to become certified Apple developers. Therefore, Apple's Gatekeeper is literally locking out LibreWolf no matter what. BUT here's one workaround I use: (1) Move your current copy of LibreWolf (if you have one) to the Trash. This is critical. Just do it. (2) Now install LibreWolf using Homebrew. If you don't have Homebrew, look it up here at MU and install it. With Homebrew installed, run THIS LINE --> brew install librewolf --no-quarantine <-- This turns off Gatekeeper for THIS, and only THIS, application, as per "no-quarantine". Now the app just runs. - - Is this a major PITA? Of course it is! Welcome to the world of ELITE software coders where users are assumed to be just as ELITE. v95.0-1 is out. It contains the fixes from Firefox v95.0. I haven't tried this out yet. I'll be comparing it to Waterfox, the other "privacy" branch off Firefox.
