RsyncUI overview
RsyncUI is the next generation of RsyncOSX. RsyncUI is a GUI for the command line tool rsync. RsyncUI is a SwiftUI based application.
What’s new in version 2.1.4
- refactor of code: (a) refactoring and cleanup of internal code are always in focus, there is always potential for cleanup and improvements; (b) there are about 146 Swift files and 10,000 lines of Swift code, there are no memory leaks, verified by the Xcode instruments tool.
- disable main functions during work: (a) all main functions on the sidebar including change profile, are disabled when there are remote execution like synchronization, restore and so on; (b) this is to prevent any sideeffects when remote executions are at work.
- additional cleanups in Settings view: be aware of there are some seconds of delay when changing settings which must be verified before saving.
- show command strings (in view for Rsync parameters): (a) RsyncUI creates commands for external execution, almost all commands are dependent upon values in each configuration; (b) this view is for documentation only for users who want to do a more detailed view of what RsyncUI does.
- Console and OSLog: (a) from Swift 5 there is a unified logging feature OSLog; (b) the OSLogs might be read by using the macOS Console app, set the Action in Console app menu to Include Info Messages and enter no.blogspot.RsyncUI as subsystem within the search field

Version: 1.7.9
For newbies: You need TWO components to use RsyncUI. (1) RsyncUI, as described here. That's actually the CLI (character line interface) background application. (2) RsyncOSX, which is the actual GUI (graphical user interface) with the unfortunate retro-name. The link to RsyncOSX is above in the RsyncUI overview. - - If you're NOT running macOS 14 Sonoma, the version of RsyncUI you want installed is v2.6.9. You can check in the Terminal using: "rsync --version". And yes, it's odd that this new version, ONLY for Sonoma, is v1.7.9. It has to do with upgrading to SwiftUI coding, apparently. 🙃

I certainly don't understand why exactly a developer would make an older version that works with previous macOS version totally unattainable. Dropping active user support is one thing, not letting people get the old version accepting there is no active support from the developer is simply too much.
