Keysmith overview

Keysmith lets you create keyboard shortcuts for any string of actions you can do with your mouse and keyboard. And Keysmith is smart. It isn't just clicking on coordinates, it's aware of apps, windows, buttons, lists, and more.

Note: The Demo version allows you to set up to five shortcuts.

What’s new in version 1.18.2

  • Fixed a bug that could cause Keysmith to lose macros.

Ease of use: 5.0

Yes, there are more sophisticated ways to automate routine tasks on my Mac. But Keysmith works out of the box for regular users like me who don't have the energy to learn scripting or plow through the intricacies of other apps (like the one mentioned by another reviewer). It hasn't taken me more than two minutes to set up reliable automations for tasks like "copy this, then open that, paste it there, and finally hit that button."

Downloaded and installed the demo version. Basically it seems to do the same like Applescript GUI scripting: activate an application, open some menu, click something in the menu, press some key, etc. It's not a real menu shortcut creation in my eyes. It's simple GUI scripting.
