SnipTag overview

SnipTag is an app for adding text captions to digital photos, and batch-cropping scanned photos. It takes its name from its two powerful tools - one for printed photos, one for digital:

SNIP - Auto-crop scanned photos
  • Scan up to eight photos at a time with any scanner, smartphone or digital camera, at super-high resolution
  • Scan in any popular image format (JPG, PNG, TIFF, BMP)
  • Bulk-import these multi-photo scans into SnipTag
  • It automatically detects, extracts and saves all photos in high resolution and original format - accurately and super-fast
TAG - Edit digital photos' metadata
  • Bulk-import photos from your Mac or cloud
  • Add captions to one or multiple photos at a time via the Mac keyboard or your voice
  • View and print photos with captions
  • SnipTag also saves all details in IPTC metadata tags, making it easy to organize and retrieve photos
  • With SnipTag's metadata editor, you can edit and add up to 25 IPTC and EXIF meta tags to your photos, making them instantly findable in SnipTag or any other photo program, on any computer. You'll never again have to waste time looking for them in your collection of thousands

I bought it a few weeks ago for my family history project after seeing a recommendation on Dick Eastman Genealogy. Took some time to get used to the navigation, but now I am having a lot of fun scanning and captioning old photos and sharing them with family. Worth the price.
