Searching and filing can take you out of "the zone". With Hookmark, instantly link and re-access information related to your current focus: be it a document, email, folder, or almost anything else on your Mac or elsewhere.
Hook does not replace your favorite apps: it lets you use them together, linking their documents and objects. For example, with Hookmark you can link a document you are writing (or reading) to a Tinderbox object, a task an outline, a diagram, and feedback, in the compatible app of your choice. Hook lets you instantly navigate between them.

The whole point of this app is to get app URL. They charge creating markdown link as a pro feature for 69.99 with only 1 year update. Sorry I will pass.

Fabulous piece of software to keep a handle on digital assets. Perfect if you are doing research/writing a book etc
Try it! It's free for 30 days (fully functional) and then you don't need to get the big expensive version, but the cheaper one which will be enough for most people.

Hook works very well as advertised but payment it is a yearly subscription and quite expensive. I purchased the 1 year but will not be renewing because of the price. I enjoy being able to link items but it is not necessary for my work.

Well, not the usuall kind of subscription. You may stop paying the yearly price, but still be able to use that current version without restrictions. It doesn't stop working or get reduced functionality as most other products do. Very pleasant way.

A nice tool to create connections between different resources. When I read a pdf and find a related wikipedia article, I simply use Hook to hook them together. Next time I revisit the pdf I have all the related resources just a click away.
The developers are very responsive and provide scripts to work more directly with applications that support scripting. Tinderbox, DEVONthink are supported so that individual items in their databases can be linked to with other resources (any files on my Mac, web pages). Hook does a better job following files around when they get moved or their name changed.
Overall a very nice tool. It fills a hole that no other tool can plug.
