I ditched 1Password for Strongbox. I principally do not use subscription software. When 1Password changed to subscription they promised to offer a lifetime license but never did. Strongbox offer a lifetime license so I finally ditched 1Password 6 and changed to Strongbox Pro with a lifetime license. The import of everything from 1Password was fast and complete. Strongbox interface is very data-basy and needs a bit getting used to. Other than that all is fine, all systems go.

I am very pleased with this app. For some time now I have been looking for a replacement for 1PW7 and, of all the possible contenders I tested, Strongbox came out best. Despite some apparent uncertainty about iCloud sync it actually works just fine. Import from 1PW was perfect including many attachments of various sizes; the app creates categories as required for every type of item; AutoFill works well in Safari. This meets all my requirements. The app is stable, is updated regularly and there is good support info online. The UI perhaps misses some of the polish of 1PW but I find this only a minor shortcoming. Recommended.

My journey through the world of password managers went as follows: I started with KeePass when my primary OS was Windows ---> then, I switched to macOS and used 1Password ---> followed by Enpass ---> then back to 1Password ---> then Bitwarden ---> and finally Strongbox. Essentially, I came full circle back to a KeePass-based solution. I purchased a lifetime all-platform version of Strongbox for Apple’s ecosystem and am very satisfied with its technical performance. For redundancy, I also purchased another KeePass-compatible app, KeePassium. However, they currently only offer an iPhone/iPad app that can run on macOS, and do not have a native macOS app.
