A "good enough" VPN. I guess I was lucky, and bought in when they were offering a lifetime subscription for around $80, I think it was. So I'm a "Premium Lifetime" member and never pay more. Over the past couple of year the product has improved, and I find myself using it pretty much all the time on the desktop, and off and on for the peripherals. It does slow things down, but with a fast ISP, it shouldn't make a difference in user experience.

Unfortunately for me, updating to 10.13 broke CyberGhost. It no longer launches. I contacted tech support, gave them my logs, and after reviewing them, they said they couldn't do anything.

OK while it worked (I'm a paid user)... Unfortunately, after a few weeks and for no apparent reason, it stopped working with a "can't launch GUI" error message... Hard to believe and understand. And this is not a rare issue, by googling this.
And when it worked, the UI was very slow to launch and establish a connection. And the app stays in the dock, polluting my screen and consuming valuable, scare space, unlike other vpns who can become invisible (no dock icon, an icon only in the menu bar).

I've been using the free version for quite some time, and I have never had any problems. It has never failed and has always been reliable. The best VPN I have ever used.Brilliant.
