There are some shortcomings/bugs with this version.

1. Lots of duplicates are still created after checking the "avoid duplicates" box, as in these passwords:


j_Pp`7l_m73J&zEI1\PPi\Mdz3 (3 capital P’s with doubles together, two 3’s included)

00.329gw8EX4WWT7nDMLLD8A58ZzACa3)n0Q (double zeros together, double capital W’s together, double capital L’s together, three 8’s included)

Uttg5997BtC5r`C3d3;G (double lowercase t’s together, double 9’s together, two C’s included)

It’s unclear if "duplicates" means duplicate characters ANYWHERE or just together. Either way the passwords violate the settings.


2. there’s no option to select how many letters/numbers/symbols to include.

For a 30-character password I may want 15 letters, 5 numbers and 10 symbols. But you have no control over that so you gotta take what you get.

Or just use the free, built-in "Password Assistant" that has been part of macOS for years. Open "Keychain Access", choose "File > New password item" and click the key icon.
