Mirror for LG TV overview
Mirror for LG TV is an application to mirror the screen of your Mac to any LG Smart TV. No wires and no additional hardware needed. This works on any LG Smart TV from the 2012 models onwards, and on the LG Home Theater System.
The quality of your experience will be dependant on the quality of your local network. Some tips to enhance the experience:
- Preferably, connect your TV by LAN cable to your router.
- Use an "ac" router. If you don't have one, then an "n" router.
- Try not to overload your wifi network by moving big files around while you are mirroring.

Version: 3.5.2
Under Catalina 10.15.2 beta 3, version 3.5.6 does not work (does not request access to screen), but 3.5.2 works fine for streaming video (but of course not for screen sharing)

Running ver. 3.3 on 2014 MacBook Pro connected to 802.11AC Apple router and 2018 55" LG TV. Utterly useless. Horrendously long delays (upwards of 20 seconds) and almost continual buffering. Problem appears to be entirely with Mirror for LG TV itself. How did I confirm it? Installed and tried Mirror for Roku and had none of the long delay and constant buffering issues. I'd buy Mirror for Roku but at this point it's not a viable solution for me since I plan on getting rid of my Roku box.

I'm using current version: 3.3, released November 12, 2018.
It works very well. I like it. There is a delay between the Mac and the LG TV, depending upon the speed of your WiFi. But the result is great. Just be sure to install the free provided AirBeamTV Audio driver in order to mirror sound. (I'm using a 2018 4K 50" LG TV and 2014 MBP running macOS 10.14 Mojave).
Their iOS app works fine as well (within the audio streaming limits pointed out by the developer).
