Airtable for Mac

I've seen a really bad trend with subscription-based software. Companies offer stuff free with very limited ability, but then charge an exorbitant fee to "actually" use the software. Why not offer something in between Free and $240 per year? (Yes, it's actually $240 PER YEAR, not a one-time payment for Airtable! No thanks!) You would probably get more customers if you had an low-cost version with more features than the free one. Even things like iCloud and Dropbox should be able to let you choose different amounts of space to use. Why does storage space have to go from 5GB for free to paying for 2TB? Can't you offer like 500GB for less money? There is literally no extra maintenance for these companies to do, yet they have these weird pricing structures that really make no sense at all.

"Absolutely free" means – at least for me: no costs at all, never. But this is another example of misleading. The basic version is free, get more features for money. Absolutely money.

Wow. I tried the web interface first and fell in love. The app is even better. I believe there is also an iOS version. Very fast, no lag at all on a mediocre wifi connection. Perfect mashup of a dataspreadbasesheet. Or, is that spreaddatasheetbase? Whatever, this is a great collaboration tool. The ease of use, sharing, speed make this much more approachable than Google Docs or Office 365. Still lacking Excel export, but exports CSV fine, and Excel gives me hives anyway. Only complaint so far is that the theme colors are too intense at the top window/header area. Otherwise, totally awesome and free for small databases and very reasonable pricing for larger endeavors. I really hope my collaborators like this as much as I do!
