I have used this app for several years now. I have absolutely loved it and have found all functions very useful, I obviously use the grocery list, however I do take advantage of each aspect. I integrate the pricing, for different stores. I have used the shop here to go straight from my list to the store to order which is very helpful. I also integrate recipes I find online - all the time. I don't use the meal planner as much as I used to, and that only because I got lazy and entering each item got to be too much for me. Meaning inputing everything individually, or having to input all as one meal- IDK im sure there is an easier way, but I just don't mess with it anymore, maybe later I will try again. I do use my list for other things. I have the family plan. So my kids have the app, and I have a list for each- they use it for their gifts, anytime they find something they like they input the item, they add the amazon link or wherever else into the notes and when a holiday or birthday comes, instead of asking - I can just go to their list and pick something that I know they want and its still somewhat of a surprise. If there was one thing I would ask for, it would be that there wold be an update for the MAX, nothing huge, just to be able to have the order from here feature from the MAC as well. Otherwise the DEV always are kind and respond to any emails, which is always a great thing. The price for the annual is very well within what it should be and I have been very happy with this app and have recommended to many.

3 years on from my previous review update. Same comments as below. Nothing has been updated and it seems the devs are focussed on iOS and iPadOS development and have left the Mac Desktop version to gather dust so to speak. The only thing they added since 2021 that I can recall is the addition of icons. So you can add graphical icons from a list they provide. Other than this, nothing has changed. It still functions though.

Another update 12 months on from my previous review. PROS: Still a very useful recipe and shopping list. Also used as a travel packing list app. Great for checking/unchecking items one would regularly purchase. Syncs well with iOS & iPadOS apps over the cloud. Nicely designed. Safari extension for clipping recipes (I don't use it, but others may find it useful) The devs respond to feedback and suggestions promptly and politely. Annual subscription model is reasonably priced given the usefulness and value despite the lack of ongoing development of the Mac desktop version. CONS: The MacOS desktop version appears to get little love with the focus being on the mobile apps. I have suggested key improvements to the functionality (dark mode? Nested notes?) but the devs state nothing will be updated in the foreseeable. That is a shame. No dark mode with no intention to implement this. Devs have confirmed this. No nested / hidden notes feature with no intention to implement this. Any notes you make are static and make your list very long because they cannot be hidden. Subscription model (if you are going to ask for ongoing support with fees, then the least you should provide is regular improvements across ALL apps). It is still a 4 star app. It could become a 5 star product if they implemented these two features. Of course this is my personal opinion and my review. Others may feel differently. I do suggest you try this app though. Don't be put off by my 'Cons'. I have 'gifted' a subscription to my relatives and they each continue to value and use the subscription service. Testament to how good this app/service is.

An update two years on from my previous review using this app every second day or so. The developers have continually supported this affordable app by improving this and the accompanying iOS app over the previous two years with bug fixes and added features. My wife and I subscribe to the 'family' pack and we run many types of lists - grocery, pharmacy, travel packing, MTBking packing, home improvement projects, etc. We have gifted (they make this very easy to gift to friends and family) to my Brother-in-Law and his wife. They love it too...now...once they understood how it worked for them. AnyList still have not implemented collapsable notes yet. They are aware of it. To me this is a really badly needed feature as adding any notes to a list item automatically extends the length of a list especially when viewing on an iOS device. A reminder, this is not just a grocery list app.

This is a great alternative to Apple Reminders and apps like Splashshopper. Anylist is not just a grocery list manager, you can create any type of re-usuable list (check / uncheck items). Support is prompt with excellent communication from the devs.

Their premium service, AnyList Complete, is great value and reseasonbly priced. The various reviews online were positive and proved correct when checking out the app. My wife and I had given up on SplashShopper as it had become abandonware and so had Apple Reminders which sorely lacked many basic features. I highly recommend you at least check out AnyList.

I have given it a 4 star rating for now as I feel there are one or two things missing that should be there.

Note, it is not a GTD solution. For that, I used Things 3 everyday.
