Apparently, to open 'ring menu' on your desktop, you have to click on its icon in the menu bar and then enter a "keyboard shortcut." How do you make a "keyboard shortcut" for this purpose? I've learned that a "modifier key" (option, command, delete, shift, and control) is essential, and I think that a "shortcut" is usually two or more keys, but what keys should I use to open ring menu?

Great utility, speeds up workflow while also allowing nested folders. Developer extremely responsive to issue with 10.11 beta and all is well again with the Ring.

I have encountered problems with Ring Menu on 10.10.3. Specifically, I can’t add apps to the ring. I drag an app, the little green plus sign appears, but the app doesn’t stick. I also ran into a problem where I deleted an app off my system and then tried to remove it from Ring Menu, with no luck. In that case, I had to completely wipe Ring Menu off my system and reinstall it, and even though I could add apps at first, now I can’t add more apps. I wrote to the dev but never recieved a response. The dev was responsive when Ring Menu was first released, but the lack of a response now makes me wonder if Ring Menu might be on its way to abandonware.

Ring Menu is one of two launchers I use on a daily basis. The other is a Launchpad-style launcher with every app on my system, organized into categories. It works well, but I wanted a faster way to get at my frequently-used apps. Ring Menu is what I was looking for. I keep a dozen frequently-used apps in it so I don't have to clog up my dock with any more apps than necessary. I like that I can quickly pop up Ring Menu with a hotkey, although when my cursor is near the edge of the screen part of the ring gets cut off (the dev says a fix for this is on his to-do list for the next version). I like that I can change the colour of the ring, but I would like to see the Apple colour picker integrated into this feature so I can pick any colour I want. I really like that it's fast, easy to use and works reliably. Well worth the price.

A really good implementation. One caveat is that if you have Better Touch Tool it will conflict with the trackpad gestures. This was mentions in the MAS along with other review sites. This has already replaced my dock but one downside is you can not control the amount of magnification as in Apple's dock.
