Snappy overview
Snappy (was SnappyApp) lets you take always-on-top snaps of your screen, annotate, share encrypted with self-destruct, everything neatly organized in your library and synced across your devices. The main interaction allows you to capture a screen area and automatically pins it above all windows, always on top, always visible - just like a memory you want to keep in focus. Once the snap is created, you can easily annotate and share it.
- Snap and Pin - Snap something from Window A so you can reference it in Window B. The snap is always on top so you can focus on the content. Command+Tab breaks context and focus, Snappy fixes that.
- Annotate - Draw, write, erase and undo. Using annotations you can highlight what is important and take notes right on the snap.
- Share - Right-click on the snap and select how you want to share it. So far we've got Snappy Link, Email, Facebook, Twitter, Imgur, Pinterest, Dropbox and Evernote.
- Organize - With the Snaps Library, the built in screenshot organizer, you can easily keep track of all your snaps. And with iCloud enabled, you have them synced across all Apple devices.

No updates. Dead? Instantly crashes when opening its preferences. Deleted it again after 5 minutes.

much better than the competition but still has a lot of issues.. for example, why not have an option to just drag the floating screen somewhere instead of having to right click and save or drag from the library? why not have an option to prevent the floating screen from appearing (direct save to library without the floating screen)? .. there's also issues when dragging to certain apps from the library.. shots are not recognized.. for example drag a snap from the library to the browser window and it will not open like it would with any other image.. this happens with other apps too.

I own this app, along with Jing, Capto and SnapNDrag Pro. It's quite good, and getting better (although I'm a little leery of the upcoming cross-platform sync subscription that is apparently coming soon).
For me, the biggest miss is the feature that people seem to like the most: the immediate floating of the snapped image. I tend to use screenshot apps to make images I can drag as files into emails or iMessage, and that means I have to close those floating screenshots every time! (If there's a way to turn it off please let me know.)
It's very convenient, and MUCH faster than Capto. But sometimes I just end up launching SnapNDrag Pro instead of using Snappy already in my menubar, just because I don't want to deal with closing those floating screenshots. Also, one nice advantage of SnapNDrag Pro is that when you drag out a screneshot to the finder/email/iMessage you can set the image to automatically downsize to 75%/50%/25% of the original, and even specify the size of an optional black border.
If I could get resize and optional non-screenshot-float I'd be using Snappy all the time, and I'd give it 5 stars.

Very good screengrabbing application. What it seems to lack, however, is the function to snap whole windows. Maybe I missed that somewhere, but I haven't found it yet.
