PureVPN overview

PureVPN offers encryption, anonymity, and dozens of features. Its VPN client offers encryption to enhance your online privacy and security.

Features
  • Multilingual - PureVPN has gone multilingual. Users can now use PureVPN in English, German, Dutch, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Turkish, and French languages and enjoy exceptional VPN service.
  • Auto-Reconnect Option - PureVPN comes with an auto-reconnect feature, which quickly reconnects the client if the VPN connection drops. This keeps PureVPN users secure at all times.
  • Improved UI - The updated UI allows users to connect/disconnect via the menu bar, and to navigate to modes via the dashboard. UI of the app's settings have also been updated and improved.
  • Purpose Selection - It helps users select the best settings via a single-click for a particular purpose. For example, if a user wants to un-throttle their bandwidth while staying secure on the internet, they simply have to choose "I want to stream", and VPN service will instantly connect with the most suitable configuration.
  • Wi-Fi Security - Users are safe on neither private nor public Wi-Fi. This is why PureVPN encrypts all user data to secure privacy and data, allowing safe wireless connections.
  • Optimized for macOS 10.12 Sierra - PureVPN has been optimized to work with all Mac versions including macOS 10.12.

The quoted price is for one month, billed monthly. Additional pricing info can be found here.

Nah. Look elsewhere for a VPN. PureVPN, based out of Hong Kong, is forced to follow the VPN rules laid out by Beijing. They've also been caught LYING that they don't log user's activities on the Internet. YES they do, and they've turned those logs over to the FBI upon request: "Pure VPN lies about keeping logs": https://www.reddit.com/r/VPN/comments/74xd8i/pure_vpn_lies_about_keeping_logs/

Ironically, their own website gives me a security error when I go there.

I do not understand why PureVPN has such poor reviews here. I'm using PureVPN since several years, and I'm very satisfied with their services. Their prices are very competitive.

PureVPN does not only come with a desktop application that puts the whole computer into VPN mode but also has browser plugins for Firefox and Chrome which can be used to put just one browser into VPN mode (and leave the computer as such in its "normal" mode).

On top of that PureVPN also has an app for the Amazon Fire TV Stick which I am using on a regular basis i. e. when I want to watch (geo-blocked) German TV from the United States.

The fact that this is a Hongkong based company does not matter to me since I don't use the service in any way that could be of interest for the Hongkong or Chinese governments. However, this is certainly different for others, and these others should probably better not use PureVPN.

was not bad but new Mac's version (since 6.1...) suffers from problem in Dedicated-ip mode (an maybe also in Stream Mode). Contacted support finally advised me to go back to a version 5 ! It's not a joke ... Latest version ( 6.1.2 ) doesn't resolte the issue... Now, I'm searching un alternative vpn, maybe Windscribe.

Look elsewhere. PureVPN is based in Hong Kong and is therefore subject to the surveillance mandates of China: Criminal Nation. PureVPN is well known to LOG user activity on the Internet and handing it over to law enforcement upon request. And yet, PureVPN has told users they don't log them, i.e. they've lied. There are far better VPNs available. Be sure to read several reviews and do some digging around for dirt before choosing a VPN. There are several excellent VPNs that are not part of the "Five Eyes" nations that share Internet user surveillance. Those nations are: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. Equally, there are many VPNs with no association with surveillance maniacal totalitarian governments.
