Dunno. Out of the box, it worked better than iExplorer, which even when it could mount "devices", never showed any files. However, Macgo Explorer fails with "failed to start file service", referring to com.apple.mobile.house_arrest. No explanation for why it couldn't. Just the error. All software (OS, iTunes, etc) are latest available for this platform.

This app does not see any of the data in my iPhone 3g

Be aware that MacGo iPhone Explorer phones home data to Google Analytics. That means surveillance information is sent to Google. I've avoided this by using Little Snitch. Another alternative is Intego's NetBarrier application.
I wish companies would make it clear when they do this. Some do, most don't. I've tried to have patience with MacGo, but this isn't acceptable from my point of view. I've stopped using this application.
