It would have been great to keep the alerter features in v2.0.0 of terminal-notifier, but sadly that wasn't possible. At any rate, together with osascript, terminal-notifier is one of the indispensable tools for bridging shell scripts and the GUI. Also great for bundling it in Platypus applications. Couldn't live without those three tools. Fantastic helper, period. Hint: change the Bundle ID of the terminal-notifier.app, when you bundle it with other applications; that way you can create individual notification settings for each instance of terminal-notifier. PS: version 2.0.0 was actually released in Nov 2017, not in 2019. Still working fine on Mojave.

I have a prior version of this installed originally for a script that notifies when Apple updates its XProtect system / definitions. However, MacUpdate didn't install the 1.8.0 update of terminal-notifier, it just downloaded the command line file. There is no documentation on how to install it manually without having to resort to first installing and using other tools like "brew". It's beyond unhelpful to expect the average user to download and install some other software first in order to install yours. Would love to see clear installation instructions (or for MacUpdate to handle the update correctly and actually install it like it does most other app updates).

Awesome helper app. I've got lots of scripts running in the background, and terminal-notifier surely comes in handy. Current version is already at 1.6.3. Works on El Capitan. Can also be installed using homebrew.
