UNAVAILABLE app. Despite Kromtech still having MemoryKeeper listed on its website, it is currently impossible to obtain the app. Apple has removed it from the Mac App Store. Thank you Apple.

I'm suspicious of all the applications, which names contain the word "Keeper". And you should too.

36 mb app that just purges memory? Seriously? And DK's caveat is not to be taken lightly. Want to purge memory? Open up terminal and type "purge". If you want a handy, lightweight and elegant app for it, then get Shellbar -- it's 1/360th the size and far more versatile.

Thanks to Derekcurrie for his review, and the warning. I used MemoryKeeper for one week, but it didn’t work. I set the limit of free memory for automatic cleanup to 10%, which is about 409 MB of memory on my system, but MemoryKeeper didn’t free memory when it reached the threshold. I decided to uninstall it and found another free application on App Store called “CleanMemory” and set the threshold to 500 MB. I opened a few applications and as soon as the memory reached below 500 MB “CleanMemory” started to free memory. The memory jumped from 500 MB to 1.65 GB. I have 4 GB of memory on my system and use Mavericks OS version 10.9.1.
