I've been using this for at least a year now, maybe longer. I use it between my Early 2009 iMac, now running 10.10.1, and my iPhone 5, now running iOS 8.1.2.
I use this several times everyday to send photos, the clipboard, and URLs back and forth between the devices.
It works flawlessly and is a real time saver. Especially since my iMac does not support AirDrop to my phone.

Fills a very necessary niche. Works perfectly. New documentation maybe could be written, but the app AND the technical support from the developer is beyond excellent!

Not just to counter all the negative “reviews” but because this thing has worked seamlessly and instantly between MacBook Pro (oder) iPad2 and iPhone 4S since release.
And it’s Free? Put it in your menubar and quit yr. bitching. The problem is yours.
