SonicWeb Internet Radio Player overview

SonicWeb is an advanced multi-radio recording internet radio player. It plays free internet radio stations, records, and automatically splits the recorded streams into separate tracks and adds them to playlists. It supports the creation of custom playlists and allows the export of tracks to iTunes and into files.

SonicWeb combines the functionality of an Internet radio player and recorder in a powerful, unique way. Playback is gapless, tracks of different radio stations are crossfaded into each other. SonicWeb adjusts the loudness of loud and quiet tracks automatically. These features enable uniform and unbroken audio playback just like with a regular radio station. In combination with the ability to record multiple radio stations simultaneously, SonicWeb will automatically create your own, personal radio stations.

+ 320mbps where it's supported + records and splits the stream if needed - no dark theme - only available on official OS stores

There's really not much to like.

Maximum bitrate is only 192 kbps even though many stations stream 320.

Stations can't be sorted by country or language and the vast majority are outside the US.

Station selection is godawful - none of our more than 20 local stations are found, and US news stations are virtually 100% absent. But for those of you who relish alternative facts, Faux News is available for your deluded listening pleasure.

Although many stations are in other languages with names like "dancefoxhölle" "NDR 1 Niedersachsen" and "Die Schlagergarage," there's no info to identify where each station is located.

On a positive note, it does have a recorder built in.

I have a radio app on my phone that has found every station I searched for and provides useful suggestions for other stations I may like. Why does a terrific top-rated phone app cost $9.99 while a horrible, nearly useless Mac app costs almost as much? This app is worth no more than $1.99 and even less to me since it can play NONE of the stations I want to hear.

I just discovered there is a website associated with the app (or vice versa). There's a free Mac app available to download to listen to streaming stations or you can listen via the website.

Hey Patrick, what happened to the video demo? It would be nice to see it in action since there are several radio players to choose from.

Great update to an already great app. Like the new interface. Speed to connect to stations is why I really like this app compared to others that I have tried.

Very impressed with this app and developer. I even deleted Radium from my Mac. I also sent some feedback to the developer and got a response ten minutes later. It has all the stations that I listened to on Radium but finds them very quickly unlike Radium which was always slow in starting up. Great work.
