Texts has now reached v1. Markdown writing apps are ubiquitous. Most are the simple, two pane variety, one pane for composing and one for previewing. Mou is a well-known example. Some are sophisticated, like Byword and Ulysses. I’ve recently fallen for Texts. My Texts app review, begins with, "Do you write with a markdown application? If not, does your reticence have anything to do with learning markdown syntax? What if you could instantly enjoy all the benefits of markdown without having to learn anything new?” Here’s the link: http://liveyourbestdreams.com/texts-app-review/

I loved Texts until I opened a file created with it with a few other Markdown editors (incl. ByWord, iWriter, Write, and Letterspace). The formatting was all over the place in all four, and as mentioned by a previous reviewer, the headings all showing-up with the underline standard as opposed to the pound (hashtag) character. I need to experiment more with the compatibility issue, but spaces and returns were inserted where they should not have been. Otherwise, a great concept with a lot of potential.

Coming along nicely. One suggestion: use the de facto standard Markdown # for autoformatted headings rather than the (legitimate but not so widely-used) == underlining. Odd not to have text select-drag-drop here. It's slightly compensated for by the almost-an-outliner type "move paragraphs" function, but still I miss it. Perhaps it's coming. Overall, though: great. Elegant and fuss-free

Great editor. Is there any chance that Texts will have auto-save?
