The Walking Dead overview

The Walking Dead is a five-part game series set in the same universe as Robert Kirkman’s award-winning comic book series. Play as Lee Everett, a convicted criminal, who has been given a second chance at life in a world devastated by the undead. With corpses returning to life and survivors stopping at nothing to maintain their own safety, protecting an orphaned girl named Clementine may offer him redemption in a world gone to hell.

A continuing story of adventure horror spanning across 5 episodes:

  • Episode 1 -- A New Day (April)
  • Episode 2 -- Starved for Help (Available June 29th)
  • Episode 3 -- Long Road Ahead
  • Episode 4 -- Around Every Corner
  • Episode 5 -- No Time Left
Features:
  • Based on Robert Kirkman's Eisner-Award winning comic book series, The Walking Dead allows gamers to experience the true horror of the zombie apocalypse
  • A tailored game experience -- Live with the profound and lasting consequences of the decisions that you make in each episode. Your actions and choices will affect how your story plays out across the entire series.
  • Experience events, meet people and visit locations that foreshadow the story of Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes

The Walking Dead is a very nice linear game cut into 5 episodes. I've only played the 3 first episodes out of 5 because the two last one aren't realized yet, but it's enough to give you my opinion about the game. Graphics : 4/5 : Very pleasant, and faithful to the comic's. Gameplay : 4/5 : Command are easy to remember, you don't have a lot of freedom, it's a very linear game, you will have to use both the mouse and the keyboard. (it's very similar to "point and click" games, and sometimes like Shenmue and resident evil concerning the battle system. Sound/musics : 5/5 : The Ambiance sounds are great! and the musics as well. OVERALL : 4,5/5 : The 3 first episodes are very quick to finish, but you'll no doubts enjoy restarting the game and change your choices as the game have a lot of possibilities and choice to slightly affect the characters of the game. The only thing I dislike in the game is that there are not so many possibilities. Your responses don't really change the story (as far as I know) the only choices which may sometimes change is when you are given the choice to rescue one of two characters... Despite the linearity of the game, I can't help but recommend you to give it a try, especially if you like Zombies game, and the comic and drama of the same name.

This game is one of the best games i have ever played. It's more like an interactive movie than a game. I like single player/campaign games and this is hell-of-a single player game. Be prepared for graphical hiccups though. They are currently present on every platform as far as i know.
