RSS Menu Extension for Safari overview

RSS Menu Extension for Safari allows Safari to discover RSS, Atom, and RDF feeds that may be advertised on web pages you visit. Discovered feeds are listed on a toolbar menu, from which you can either subscribe to them in your default Mac news-reader app (Vienna, Reeder, NetNewsWire, etc.), or preview the latest articles directly in your browser.

What’s new in version 2.3.0

Version 2.3.0:
  • Visual refinements and essential bug fixes.
  • Updates to the jfeed library used to generate the feed preview.
  • Removal of the YouTube feeds functionality, which hasn't worked for some time because Google no longer provides an API.

The ability to view all available feeds, and subscribe via Google Reader inside the browser, make this the one. Nicely done.

Does the job, and does it well. Provides immediate visual notification that a page offers RSS feeds (although I'd like an option for the button to show an orange RSS icon, if possible), and allows selecting any feed desired. Integration with Google Reader is icing on the cake, making it even better than what Safari previously offered. Good stuff.
