Skyscraper (was Pandora) is a search tool for finding images on the web. It can perform keyword based searches, or you can point it at a webpage and it will find all the images on that page or linked to it. Just enter the keyword or webpage address and press return, and Skyscraper takes care of the rest.
Some highlights:
Perform keyword searches with popular search engines.
Spider a webpage and find all the images on or linked to it
Constrain the search by specifying size, kind of file, or license
Automatically saves the search results to a folder of your choice
Display the results with a built in slideshow
Perform multiple searches at once, each in its own tab.
What’s new in version 2.7.6
Version 2.7.6:
Now signed with an official Developer ID to please OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion's Gatekeeper feature
Appears to have been discontinued - I attempted to download the latest version and got a "404 - Not Found" message instead; SkyScraper is also no longer listed as an available product on Fortunate Bear LLC's site either
Definitely recommend. Stable, fast, easy to use, finds everything. I just wish you could name the images according to the title of the page they were downloaded from. If it had naming options I would give it 5 stars.
Highly recommended. I have used Pandora ever since John created it years ago. I recently downloaded and tried all other image grabbing software available for Mac OS X. Some were okay, some didn't work well but I found none exceeded the nice way Pandora just works - easy to use and collects the stuff I want. Also Pandora's demo version is nice because it allows you to try it and not watermark the images you download. Thank you John.
Excellent tool for finding pics and graphics that I use in my work. I used to get the "Google blocking" message as well, but found that the problem was with my ISP and not with Google nor Pandora. I do not get the message anymore and often make multiple searches at the same time.
Really cool to use!
