Due for Mac

Set reminders in your own words.

Due overview

Due lets you type "Make dinner reservation at 9am tomorrow" and your reminder is set for 9 AM tomorrow. "Cancel subscription in 1 month" and you get a buzz a month later. Just tell Due in your own words what you'd like to do, and when you'd like to be reminded.

There are no awkward date pickers to fight with, nor rigid date and time format to follow. Your reminder is set as soon as you're done typing. Due makes sure things actually get done by keeping you on your toes, sending you periodic reminders until you actually mark the reminders complete.

Features
  • Fast. Really fast. Reminders are set as soon as you finish typing what to do, and when to do it.
  • Natural date and time parsing. No awkward date pickers nor rigid date and time format to follow. Set due date and time by typing what is natural to you. "4pm" works just as fine as "4:00 PM" or "16:00", and "Aug 22" works as well as "22 August" or "8/22". Relative dates like "in 20 mins" or "in 6 months" work too.

What’s new in version 23.3

  • Search criteria (Contains) that matches any words containing the search term
  • Optional setting that asks for confirmation before quitting Due
  • Reminders created from search will now have any leading whitespace removed after date parsing (thanks Michael J.)
  • Improved parsing of military times without colons (thanks Vlad G.)
  • Date parser now suggests the default due time (if set up in Preferences) when parsing dates without time specified (thanks Philip N.)
  • Date parser suggestions can now be accepted immediately without requiring multiple Return key presses
  • No longer crashes when attempting to parse an unsupported date/time twice in a row (thanks Gabriel R.)
  • No longer deletes the wrong entry after cancelling a swipe-to-delete action (thanks Chris W.)
  • Double-clicking near the top of the editor no longer causes it to expand to fill screen horizontally
  • Improved sharing of reminders via Messages by dropping rich-text formatting of links
  • Improved handling of corrupted databases and databases that require a newer version of Due
  • Added Mastodon handle to Help section

Hi there. I have used many similar apps but your app rates as the best. Keep it up! I have two requested that would make the app perfect to me. If at all possible could a QUICK ACCESS TIMES menu as in the iPhone app be incorporated in the reminders editor of the Mac app. It would speed up postponing reminders to a specific date/time which I am constantly doing. I love the 12 button grid with it's options on the iPhone. Also, being able to drag and reorder reminders with the same time/date would be a huge help. I sometimes have a large number of items at the same time, say 9am, and need to order them, without change the times (e.g. 9:05, 9:10, 9:15e etc) which is a real pain. Due is my daily think pad so reordering would be invaluable. I would hugely appreciate it if you could consider these two suggestions. All the best and again, keep up the good work!! Jeff

I own a few Mac alarm apps and timer apps, but Due has replaced them. That said, I mostly use apps (especially Due) on my iPhone for these tasks. If you have an iPhone get Due. If you have an iPhone with Due, this Mac app is nice for the sync but ultimately it is superfluous. I use the iOS app for daily, weekly, week-long, and monthly reminders. The alert sounds are great, especially if you need something that you won't accidentally ignore. It's become essential on my phone. But the Mac app - not so much.

I use it every day and I think I would be lost without it. The new dark theme is a great improvement IMO, but they've added a light theme for those who prefer that.

iCloud sync is totally broken (at least for me). Without a stable sync with iPhone it's not near as useful as standard Reminders. Unfortunately, there's no trial for OSX and no lite free version for IOS to try before spending 2 x $5 on software that just doesn't work properly.
