myWPEdit overview

myWPEdit is a gorgeous WordPress client for OS X and a very sophisticated publishing tool for the serious blogger.

Or in other words:
Blogging made easy and fun - and the Mac way.

Just open myWPedit and start to blog.

Write with myWPEdit the same way you are used from myWritings or Pages. Insert images by drag and drop and format text bold, italic or insert lists, blockquotes etc.

For the nerds, myWPEdit supports HTML (like the 'more tag') and if you're even nerdier - Use Markdown, multiple accounts, sophisticated templates for recurring articles and autocompletion for tags and categories and of course you can import already pre-written articles directly from other Apps like myTexts pro.

In addition you can also preview the text you are working on at any time. Published posts can also be 'web-previewed' at any time without leaving the App. And because blogging often means to work with web-finds, other articles etc. - I've extra added support for our Read It Later bookmarks with built-in preview.

Because we often find a typo or have to re-write a paragraph the moment we've published a text - the text one is currently working on is automatically saved and even available after publication, so editing a published post is a piece of cake.

And of course you can also access already published posts and because many of you really use the draft feature, they can also be accessed with ease.

I would love to use this software but as it is limited to 3 blogs I simply can't use it. If you have only 1-3 blogs to maintain it may be a very nice tool. The developer seems to not be able to make minor changes to the app (very easy to code feature requests) but he is responsive and will tell you directly what he thinks ;-) So, as Blogo is nearly dead I went for MarsEdit.

I've been experimenting with this app and my initial impressions are very positive. I've been using MarsEdit and this app does nearly all of what MarsEdit does, at least for my needs, for a fraction of the price. One feature that I would like to see in this app in the ability to pad images. Other than that, it looks really good.

WordPress is WordPress - no matter if it is hosted by WordPress or on your own server - the only thing you may have to do is to adjust the endpoint URL :-) In most cases it is something like: http://domain.com/xmlrpc.php

There had just ben some confusion - so I will explicitly point it out: WordPress is WordPress - no matter if it is hosted by WordPress or on your own server - the only thing you may have to do is to adjust the endpoint URL :-) In most cases it is something like: http://domain.com/xmlrpc.php
