Disk LED overview

Disk LED is a Menu bar indicator for disk activity.

Have you ever wondered why your machine is not responding? Have you ever wished it had a LED indicating your disk's activity?

Well, now it does! Disk LED is a very simple unobtrusive application that lives in your status bar and displays just that: an indicator of your disk activity.

Disk LED shows activity for any internal or external storage device in a convenient summarized way.

You can choose between many LED models to suit your status bar style and change the refresh rate to decide how many milliseconds you can tolerate without knowing exactly what your disks are doing!

And the best of all: Disk LED is FREE!!!! Aren't we awesome?

Please support us by checking our other applications: gNotifier, Social Clipboard, Clipboard History and Cube X Words (for Mac & iPad).

What’s new in version 2.1

Version 2.1:
  • Option to show contained volumes instead of disk model as tooltip.
  • Fixed: some external devices didn't disappear when unmounted if "Ignore devices that doesn't contain any media inserted" is enabled.

Odd pricing. It says $1.99 on this MU page but AppStore actually states 2.99 EURO (that's $4!). Different pricing for the US and the EU when distributing through the AppStore? Even when taking local V.A.T. into consideration that's a ridiculous EU price. I'll pass forever on Agile Route.

Wow! It looks like , "Disk Light," is back in OS X form! What's it been? Over twenty years since that pesky INIT was released in Peter Norton's Norton Utilities for Mac 1.0 for what version was the Mac on then. System 6, or earlier? Amazing how we think we're moving forward, yet we fade back, borne ceaselessly against the tide, as F. Scott put it. Let's hope that the OS X incarnation won't be as troublesome as its cute, but functionally useless, predecessor.

I like it. I would like it even better if it would tell you what file/files or apps are accessing your drive.
