After looking at this program I found information relating to the use of a program called PRO-Tector 6b that acts like a root kit. The poster was unable to put his computer to sleep and he mentioned issues of not being able to spin down the drives. The program was installed at the root level of the Mac and caused all kinds of problems. I know this company uses this scheme and it is dangerous. About 10 years ago Sony came up with a system like this and hosed the PC world.
