Borderlands Game of the Year is a unique hybrid of first person shooter and role-playing game with a super sharp visual style and a compelling four player co-op mode.

Planet Pandora is a sparsely populated wasteland where the rule of law gets rewritten daily in the smoke of the last gun battle. Civilization consists of small outposts on the fringe of human influence, in an area called the Borderlands. Pandora's one claim to fame is a mythical Vault supposedly packed with fantastic riches.

Fortune hunters, corrupt corporate mercenaries and lowlife hoodlums roam the landscape, searching under every grain of sand for the treasure. Since most intelligent life on Pandora has the occupation of Vault Hunter, society has gone to hell - making the outposts and outback areas more than just a little dangerous.

We will be submitting 1.0.3 shortly with the DLC back in the game. The DVD and DRM copies are not effected by this. If you do have the App Store version and have not updated yet just open up the package contents and make a copy of the AddOn DMG. After the update put it back in the same place and the game will still have the DLC. Or you can just wait for 1.0.3. If anyone has trouble please just email support and we will see you right. Edwin"

This update apparently affects Mac App Store purchases only. According to their support site 1.0.2 is the latest version (I guess because they caught this snafu. http://support.feralinteractive.com/en/mac-games/borderlands/ with 1.0.3) http://support.feralinteractive.com/en/mac-games/borderlands/faqs/missingsaves/ "If you purchased version 1.0.2 of Borderlands Game of the Year Edition from the Mac App Store (between August 3rd and August 8th 2012), you will have lost access to the save games that stored your character data if you since updated your game to version 1.0.3. This is because version 1.0.2 of Borderlands Game of the Year Edition contained an error which meant that save games were created in and loaded from a different location to the previous version (1.0.1) of Borderlands Game of the Year Edition. The error was corrected in version 1.0.3, but players who bought version 1.0.2 and played the game for the first time before updating their copy to 1.0.3 will no longer have access to the character they created in that time. Brilliant game! I love the unique art style and the combination of action and RPG elements. Feral did a great job on the port — it's a real Mac version, not just the Windows game in a Cider wrapper. Performance is pretty decent on my (now relatively old) MacBook Pro (late 2008, GeForce 9600M GT with 256 MB VRAM).

One of the very few- if not the only- games I pre-ordered! This game is absolutely amazing and will suck you in for hours and hours, I haven't been so entertained in quite awhile. The graphics are amazing, the guns are really cool, the re-spawning mechanism isn't annoying or rigid nor are the quests! The visuals and gameplay I can only describe as being that superb balance of what I would expect were I playing the main character in a kick-@ss comic book! MacPro 4,1 OS X 10.6.x RadeonHD4870
