Novabench overview

Novabench lets you test the main components of your Mac quickly. Testing generally takes only 1-2 minutes, and produces detailed information and an overall system score.

Features:
  • Floating Point Test - Tests CPU's floating point arithmetic speed
  • Integer Test - Tests CPU's integer arithmetic speed
  • MD5 Hashing Speed - General CPU test
  • 3D Graphics Test - Tests GPU with a heavily shader dependent 3D scene
  • RAM Speed - Tests RAM read and write speed
  • Disk Write Speed - Test write speed of primary storage device

Results can be submitted to the Novabench website for comparison with other systems. All submitted results are verified for authenticity

Build a profile of your Novabench results, and link it easily on social networks. You can also create an image for your forum signature, blog, or website

Weird. Every test I performed went on to perform other unrelated tests. When I chose floating point CPU tests, it went on to test the hard drive. The hard drive tests appear to lock up with the progress bar always maxed. There appears to be no local display of test results and no instructions or guides either.

Nice having a 64-bit support however appears single threaded so not a lot of use for multicore setups. The results and comparison website is just about unusable - which is a shame because that's usually the most interesting part about running benchmark tests.
