There are MANY excellent presets that should serve most people very, very well. However, there's a learning curve if you plan to use advanced FFmpeg features (which the vast majority will not do).
Customer support: 5.0
Simply the best customer support in the industry. I have sent them dozens of emails to ask how to do things, and they have always responded clearly and in detail with one day.

Love this app, but I really wish the developer would get a faster server to host the download. It's agonizingly slow and often fails. It shouldn't take 5 minutes+ to download an 80mb file.

ffWorks is better by an order of magnitude than any other video converter available for macOS. I have tried everything, and there really is nothing that compares. It gives you the ability to tweak just about any of the hundreds of settings available, and the comprehensive tooltips for each setting go a long way toward helping you understand them. Or, you can just select one of the easy presets and you'll still end up with a conversion that's highly faithful to the original.
What's more, the developer team is HIGHLY responsive. I cannot even count the number of times I have emailed them about some aspect of the process that confused me and they responded within a day or even within an hour! ffWorks is well worth its modest price.
