Filed Documents overview

Filed Documents... Filing incoming documents, whether they are from a scanner, camera or your downloads folder is tiresome and error prone. Use Filed Documents to quickly file or trash files, using optional automatic date based filing.

The toolbar is customizable. Use it to set up filing buttons that route documents as you see fit.

Developed to deal with the fact that the ScanSnap and other scanners put all scans in one folder. This allows you to see the scan, decide on a location and file it in record time.

We scan in invoices, etc, then file with this app, which allows Spot Documents to upload the file to the right place on Amazon S3.

What’s new in version 1.3

Version 1.3:
  • More direct feel when pressing button to file an object
  • Fixed rare double file problem

Nice minimalist app. The clean interface make it easy to sort documents quickly. Anyway an inspector window (ala Finder) would be nice with the ability to add some pdf metadata and to change the creation date.

Thanks for having a look. This application does nothing that can't be done more slowly in the Finder. Having said that, I find it useful for us here at the office in order to get all of the scanned documents into the right folder. Also for those that want to sort photos before adding them to iPhoto, etc. If anyone has another hierarchy other than date based, that could be set up in a preference dialog, then send it along. I think that the Hazel users out there could also make a 'Hazel' button that moves the document to a folder that Hazel watches. This would allow you to decide to let hazel work on a file or not. --Tom
