- Bootable Backups via Cloner When a hard disk crashes, one of the most frustrating things is that in order to copy over backed up files you must wait for a replacement hard drive and then go through the tedious restore process. The Cloner in Get Backup takes an external hard disk and turns it into a bootable copy of the disk in your Mac. So no need to wait for the replacement. You can place the clone right into your Mac and even work using the external disk until your replacement arrives.
- Automate Backup and Sync Processes The customizable schedule tool allows to fully automate the backup and synchronization processes, so that backups are built and sync takes place on a regular basis (daily, weekly, biweekly or monthly). Specify the backup and sync start time down to a minute. You can even create separate schedules for several backup and file sync projects.
- Back Up to CD/DVD and Any Mounted Device/Drive The program allows you to save backups to any locally mounted device/drive, including FireWire, USB, ATA, SCSI, CD and DVD devices, or network volumes.
- Integration Integration with Apple iPhoto, Mail, iTunes and Address Book makes it very easy to access and backup your music, photos, e-mail and address records. Also, you can easily backup any other file or folder stored on your computer.

This was a disaster for me. Worked as long as I didnt actually need to recover anything - it cloned my macbook, and an external drive. I backed up both to another external drive using Get Backup Pro.
Then my macbook died and I wanted to recover the backup.
The external drive containing teh backups showed up as blank when I connected it to my new macbook. Despite 3.5b of that drive showing as 'used' in Mac's finder. The data was obviously there but I couldn't see or access it. The drive had never had any problems before or since, so it was a software issue.
I thought this would we a simple fix from customer service - but their only suggestion was 'check the usb cable' (!)
In the end they insisted the drive was empty. And just said 'sorry, we empathise with you but we cant do anything' It wasnt empty - I bought a third party data recovery solution, and it found all the 'lost' data.
I dont see the point in paying for this, if it simply isnt up to the job, and it forced me to pay another £80 for more software to rectify their mess. Pointless software.

v3.7.3 is the current version. I found Get Backup Pro surprisingly fast and easy to use. I've used it only recently to fix an issue I had with Chronosync: it wasn't updating aliases on the destination even if they were different. This may be an edge case, but at least Get Backup Pro copied what needed to be copied... 👍 CCC and Chronosync are great software, but sometimes little software like Get Backup Pro or SyncTwoFolders are doing a faster and better job. 🤔

I have Belight Software 'Swift Publisher' which is so good, using it every day for the last 9 yrs.
I watched their short video presenting GetBackup Pro. It's animated, without showing how the application works. Useless and does not help. The video is unchanged for years. Half animated slides presentation here also running unchanged for years, which is stupid and useless. BelightSoft, please refresh your presentation video on your site and the slides on MU. Both are terribly outdated and do not help to get an initial understanding how Getbackup pro works.

I've been using this app for over a year. Initially I used the free version (when it was available on the Mac App Store) and later I've purchased the full version from their website. I loved the app for its simplicity and the easy way to create various backups or syncs.
While I was using the App Store version, I quickly realized that it has obvious bugs which makes the app problematic to use. Support was quick and helpful and they patched up the bugs.
But more and more bugs started to show up. Eventually I abandoned the app and started to use a different backup program which was exceptional but way too robust. And as I was saying I really liked Get Backup Pro because it was simple.
A few months later I checked back where the app was, as far as bug fixes, and noticed that release a few updates since I used the app. So I installed it again and started to use it. Which brings us to today (May of 2020), using the latest 3.5.4 (1425) version.
I am keep facing with more and more bugs to the point that it is unusable at this point. Erroneous messages and files appearing in the file list that don't even exist neither on my source nor on my target device. I have emailed support with a detailed description and screenshots of the problem. A few days later they release the current version - 3.5.4 (1425) - but the above mentioned problem still intact. So at this point I am not able to make any backups or syncs for over 2 weeks now with the app.
I can see now that this was a bad investment. The app is nice, love the simplicity, support is, I'd say, great, but the constant bugs and bugs and bugs, is not only disappointing but makes the app difficult, if not impossible, to use.
As of now, I will completely abandon this app and will resort to the other, more cumbersome app to use for backups/syncs. I don't want to mention the competition for obvious reason, but that app is rock solid despite it has such a multitude of features, most I won't ever use.
I'm quite disappointed with this app and the fact I threw out nearly 20 bucks on the window.
