DockView overview

DockView extends OS X’s Dock and shows window previews whenever you hover your mouse over an application or while using Cmd+Tab. It helps you visualise the windows you currently have open and easily find the window you are looking for.

Features:

Activate windows. Click anywhere on a preview to activate the window.
Close windows. You can use DockView to easily close windows.
Live previews. The previews refresh constantly so you can keep an eye on windows without activating them.
Dock Badges. DockView can show dock badges with the number of windows open.
Customizable. The previews can be any size you want.

Its quite unfortunate that such a wonderful app has been abandoned by the developer. DockView has been discontinued due to low demand!

What is up with people who use stars in negative *comments* instead of only in reviews? "The app works like a charm and I would give it five stars, but the developer has pissed me off and hurt my feelings. So, I'm only going to give his app a half-star to punish him!" Reviews and stars are meant to be about the apps. If you have some pet peeve or personal bitch with the dev, then put that mess into a *comment*. You know. Like what I'm doing here. That's why MU has set its pages up the way that it has. It's really easy to make the distinction.

I'm having difficulty finding out just what exactly is the difference between the free and paid versions. Yes, I know I could download it to find out, but I don't like doing that with App Store apps because of the way the App Store works. So, is the free version a demo (time or usage-limited)? Or is it feature-limited compared to the full version? If so, what features are in the free version, and which ones do you have to pay for? If it is a demo, MU should change this listing to reflect that.

Thanks for fixing the Mavericks issues. I had to stop using this for a while. I was using HyperDock but I find it inferior to DockView.

I too loved DockView 1 and so I purchased V2 to support the developer only to find out it doesn't work with Bartender installed. After I paid for the app and installed it, I just got a notification that it simply doesn't work when running Bartender and I have to quit it. Would be great if I would have found this info BEFORE I purchased and installed the app! So, I have quitted Bartender and guess what: even then DockView hangs. Seems I have just purchased an app that simply doesn't work. I know, the dev already knows about the problem and is working on it but this is not the point here. If the app will be fixed in a short time I will of course adjust my rating as this rating is not about the app itself - as I can't run it - but the above lack of communication.
