InerziaTimer overview

InerziaTimer is a simple but powerful countdown/chronometer/alarm clock for the Mac, completely written in Cocoa. You won't lose a second again, with InerziaTimer!

InerziaTimer does exactly what real chronometers do: if you can measure it with a professional chronometer, you can do the same with your Mac. With a precision of 1/100 seconds, you'll be able to time about everything with a precision never seen before. And there are features for every need: simple shortcuts, laps, export and customization are all available in InerziaTimer.

Even digital wristwatches have a countdown built-in, so why your Mac doesn't have one? InerziaTimer is the lightest and fastest countdown software available for your Mac: it starts up in about 3 seconds, uses only 22MB of RAM (iTunes, for example requires about two times the memory of InerziaTimer) and it's only 2MB on your disk!

Version 2.0 introduces the Alarm Clock: are you tired of work? Take a comfortable sit, starts iTunes and set up InerziaTimer to wake you up in 15 minutes! That's all: InerziaTimer will do the rest!

InerziaTimer uses the latest technologies available in Mac OS X Leopard and higher, to ensure the best user experience: 64bit support, low CPU/RAM usage and other great things like these, are our keywords in building InerziaTimer. Try yourself: you'll be amazed!

Simple to use but the graphical interface is just to be reviewed to make it more immediate to use and above all need BIGGER numbers!

Question for the developer: Is this app still under development?

I've been looking for a combo timer/alarm clock app to replace my soon to be defunct 32 bit Alarm Clock, and after a long, PIA search I finally found InerziaTimer, which, as far as I can tell, is the only one of its type available...and it's free, to boot.

Although it doesn't make it unwieldy, InerziaTimer's got some seemingly mandatory - All such apps have got it to some degree. - clunkiness to its GUI, but a MAJOR complaint, which is why I rated it only four stars, is that it can't save a menu of presets, . (I'd pay for the option...heck, I'd pay for the app as it stands!)

Kudos to the developer for having given us this app for free, particularly in view of the fact that its functionality surpasses that of even its paid competition.

(Note: The link to the developer's website returns a "404" error.)

I installed InerziaTimer from MAS (not available outside the Apple store) to compare time spent from two particular apps (Folx and iGetter) until they finish their work. Timer app works fine and I thank developer for it, but here is what I would like to suggest:
1. It's very common to find average time spent on particular operation (this is similar to current Lap command). To do this Chronograph should have an option to keep the previous measurement when we "Start" the timer. Then "Stop" will calculate average time (as in the current version). Sequence could be: Start, Stop, keep, Start, Stop, keep, Calculate average time.
2. It's also very common to compare two intervals to find which one is faster. This may be implemented by a command that calculates the difference of two selected times. Sequence could be: Start, Stop, keep, Start, Stop, keep, We select two times, Diff command.
3. Let the display update per second (to decrease CPU load), but results have 1/100 s precision.
4. Menu Help > "InerziaSoft Support Center" opens a broken link.

As a side note to the description for your application, it should say Chronograph, not Chronometer. They are 2 very different things and often confused by many people. Chronometer is a certification that is received for extremely accurate time keeping. Chronograph is a stop watch.
