Wget overview

Wget, from the Free Software Foundation's Wget home page, is a free software package for retrieving files using HTTP, HTTPS and FTP, the most widely-used Internet protocols. It is a non-interactive commandline tool, so it may easily be called from scripts, cron jobs, terminals without X-Windows support, etc. GNU Wget has many features to make retrieving large files or mirroring entire Web or FTP sites easy..."

Hi! I would really like to use this. I have followed the tutorial here: http://www.supermind.org/blog/844/resume-cancelledcrashed-downloads-in-google-chrome-on-ubuntuosx But I am running into problems. The source which I want to download requires you to be logged into the website. I can do this and download the file in a web browser (like google chrome), but in terminal it errors (presumably, because terminal isn't using any cached login details/cookies/session keys ect.). As a result of this when I enter the download link that I can use in my web browser, it doesn't work with wget in terminal and just downloads an index.html files, which I would get in my browser if I weren't logged in. :/ Any suggestions?
