PEnGUIn Encoder M4V for Mac

Very nice but limited mEncoder gui. If the devs can improve the options and GUI layout it would certainly be a very good ffmpeg alternative.

LAFEAR, thanks for clearing that up for me. I love both PEnGUIn Encoders and have used them for a long time, and they just keep getting better. Because the differences between the PEnGUIn Encoder M4V and the PEnGUIn Encoder MP4 are so small, I wonder if both the users and you would benefit by only having ONE PEnGUIn Encoder that can create either kind of filetype? You could probably explain those small differences between them with just one sentence, and perhaps another sentence could describe how to decide which one to use, and both could be right up front with checkboxes for users to choose whether to use the .mp4 or .m4v file extension for their newly converted video. It's just an idea. Anyway, thanks again for all your hard work, and for offering them to us for free!

I'm confused: What is the difference between PEnGUIn Encoder M4V and PEnGUIn Encoder MP4? Aren't MP4 files and M4V files the same, except that iTunes requires that MPEG-4 movies use the .m4v extension, so all you have to do to is change the extension from .mp4 to .m4v? Other than the small difference in the extensions, are those 2 apps EXACTLY the same? Also, what is PEnGUIn Encoder PMP 1.0.2?

I was looking for a free solution to convert wmv to m4v for a friend who works for a television station so she could work on her mac at home. This little GUI provided the perfect solution for her. I am so pleased with how well this little app works I will keep it on my machine.

Clicking on launch always does nothing. Tried both my iMac and Macbook. Do i need to install mencoder too?
