Singlemizer for Mac

I've been using Singlemizer for several years,. have tried others to get around two quirks in the interface but always come back to this one. I don't know if the developer is still working on it three years after the latest version, but if he or she is, I have two suggestions for the UI: 1) When duplicates are detected the list allows you to select any of them except the first. Could there not be a preferences option not allow us to select ANY of the listed duplicates for deletion? 2) It would be useful to be able to select the filename (basename) of any duplicate using the mouse. This would allow finding derivatives or versions of a file which are not themselves duplicates. 5 stars for Singlemizer nonetheless. The best thing about it is its clean, uncluttered interface.

Well on first impressions seems to work ok though going through on the trial and selecting all the duplicates for 30 minutes only to be told I then have to buy before I can delete them feels like a horrible marketing ploy for this reason I am not giving it a good score. Especially given the review below indicates you get a number of scans before you have to buy. Be warned you have to buy this before you can use it properly and so ifyou're not prepared to do this it will waste your time - seems a fairly good programme though still labour intensive process that has irked me.

this is an app I've been wishing for for ages, so pleased to finally have it!! I knew I had quite a lot of duplicates from old backup issues years ago, couldn't face the daunting task thinking it would take a very long time. This app cleaned them up for me in a way I feel much more comfortable with (creating aliases to the original) and in a very short time I gained back 3.67GB of wasted space on my Mac. Yay Singlemizer!! Thank you for creating this great tool.

19/20. So who doesn't want to pay less? Great Mac application that does consistently what it is designed for. Users and archivists! Anyone who maintains libraries of files.
