Renamerox overview

Renamerox is the simple way to rename, copy, and move hundreds or thousands of files or folders with a single drag-and-drop using presets.

The powerful renaming engine allows you to:
  • set a new name with index, prefix and suffix;
  • add a prefix and suffix;
  • add a prefix;
  • add a suffix;
  • replace a piece of the name;
  • set or change the file-extension;
  • convert the file name to small letters;
  • convert the file name to cap letters;
  • convert the file name to titlecase;
  • truncate some letters from left or right;
  • create a new name with Roman numerals index, prefix and suffix;
  • add Roman numerals as prefix and suffix;
  • add a string to a position you wish.

When you drop files or folders on the Renamerox application icon, Renamerox will start up and will immediately begin the job. If the checkbox "Quit after Job" is checked in the preferences, Renamerox will quit automatically after the job is finished. Undoing the renaming process reverts to the original names of the items. Renamerox offers several additional options to optimize the renaming process.

Correct Link to Developer's website: BRANOX.com. (not Renamerox.branox.com) Website looks active, and clearly states: NO spyware, NO malware of any kind.

easy to use without clutter. I also tried the demo version and I felt, I have a great tool in my hands. I tested the other tools too but they took too much time to learn how they work. Many of them have a full cluttered UI. I dont’ like a full clutterd interface. As the last reviewer reports, Renamerox is very well organized. All settings can be reached by using the preferences button. In the preferences, there are many options and feature which can be found in the coressponding tabs. In the renaming tab, you have many options for changing the name of your files. At all the time, you can see the NEW NAME of the first 3 files in the bottom of the preferences window. So you have always an overview of new file names. The preset window gives you the ability to save the setting as a new preset. All presets can be changed from the preset menu in the main window. This is a very SMART SOLUTION. Because you can change the current setting very fast by choosing another preset. You see, not all people like a certain interface, else we all would use windows and not a mac. Better you try it yourselves. I gave it a try and finally I got a license. BTW, the macupdate reviews becomes slowly a little strange. A new account downloads only 1 file which get an improper rating. Macupdate user are smart enough to recognize your real intention.

I downloaded the demo and the first thing I noticed was the UI is very confusing and not very clear about what was happening. You are greeted with a very small UI window to drop you files into, but offered no immediate options. Only by clicking on the 'Preferences' button do you get to make any selections that will effect the naming of your files. This presents the first issue: a slide down window that obscures your file list, and tabs within that window for yet more options. Not very elegant. File Naming and Saving Options are in separate tabs. Is that really necessary? And then, ANOTHER tab at the bottom that open ANOTHER slide out widow for Preset Lists. The interface is like a game of Jenga. Pull this out of here, and this out of here, and if I click here, something pushes out over there. Other file renamers like ABFR9 and Renamer present all of your options in one pane allowing you to see immediate feedback in your file list. The commands available are limited to one at a time. So if I want to add a Prefix and a sequential number, that requires two passes. And you still don't see what is going to happen to your actual file names until you hit the Rename button. Luckily there is an Undo button if things go totally bonkers, and trust me - they will. If it takes longer to figure out the interface than it does to rename manually, with uncertain results, this qualifies as a "Delete App Immediately" . Pros: It does rename files Undo button Cons: Confusing, multi pane interface No WYSIWYG feedback

At Macupdate, no one buys a software due to the good reviews. Try the demo yourself and buy it when you like it. Here is not AppStore.
