Yelp is an iPhone app that helps you locate places of interest using your iPhone. By utilizing the built-in GPS, Yelp can help you find nearby Irish pubs, pizza joints and even gas stations. Then browse user submitted reviews about places in your vicinity.

Yelp is a great, free service and the iPhone app makes it even easier to access. The only feature I wish it had was the ability to add my own reviews on the go, but that's coming in a later release.
It's fast and speedy, even over EDGE. I highly recommend it if your city has a big Yelp community.

FYI: Yelp 1.0.2 won't install on iPod touch running 2.1. Maybe the developer can work around that in a future update.

Interesting. I installed Yelp version 0.1 on my iPhone. Today version 1.0 has come available. When I went to download this update, the App Store insisted that I have already downloaded it. Was the first posting a numerical error? Or is this a new version? Who knows? As usual, Apple provides no direct method of feedback on the App page to find out.
