Sweet16 overview

Sweet16 is the most capable Apple IIgs emulator for computers running OS X. Based on the BeOS version of Sweet16, which was in turn based on the outlandishly popular Bernie ][ The Rescue, its code is mature and positioned to have more and better features added over time. Apple IIgs fanatics and nostalgic '80s junkies alike will love Sweet16!

What’s new in version 3.0.3

Version 3.0.3:

Note: None of the Apple IIgs extensions or desk accessories changed for this release, so you don't need to update them.

  • Fixed a memory leak in full-screen mode that would fairly quickly eat up a lot of free memory the longer you stayed in full-screen mode.
  • Fixed a problem that prevented the file drag-and-drop support from working on systems with an Intel Core Duo processor.
  • Re-implemented the About box in Cocoa for a more modern look, and as the start of an overall modernization process on the code.
  • Other minor fixes and improvements.

:) Wasn't Sweet 16 originally a 16 bit virtual machine running on the Apple ][+? Oh yeh... http://6502.org/source/interpreters/sweet16.htm

The 1.7.2 update worked like a snap for me. I had problems with setting up the IIGS under 1.7.1 (namely, creating a 32MB disk image wouldn't work). Now all I need to do is find a way to grab all my old data from 3.5" disks onto my G5.... :)

Wow. Great to see a fresh effort on a gs emulator. Works great for the most part. A few images failed to load, but all-in-all, a great rebirth for ][gs nostalgia. Keep up the awesome work. For those that do not know what a ][gs is, you missed out on a true machine back in its day. It was light years ahead of anything else. It made leaps in technology that are rarely seen anymore. Yes, all machines get faster and faster, but this brought the depth to computers that in this day are totally taken for granted. The only wish I would have for this is the ability to lock out the mouse from other programs while it is being run. Otherwise, those with large screens find themselves jumping around to different programs in the middle of playing.
