CameraSalvage did not work at all for me and in fact made matters worse. I had some jpgs that showed up fine on my Canon camera but when i copied and then tried to open them on my ibook i was told the file was corrupt and could not be opened. I made a disk image of the whole SD card and ran CameraSalvage on it . it only 'salvaged' the files that were perfect anyway- didnt even recognise those that i needed fixed. Also -CS names the disks it is t o work on in a confusing way which led to me mistakenly having it work on my original SD card. Voila! Files not only appearing as corrupt on my computer but now ALL the files are gone from the SD card -the camera recognizez NONE of the images any more. If you want to recover some valuable jpegs from your camera DO NOT RISK them with this bad software. I am asking for my money back

Worked for me without any problem Recently, some jpg and mpg files were deleted from a memory stick. I was able to recover them without any problem. It was a very simple process. Didn't alter the contents on the card at all. Also, a while back I used it to recover images from an sd card. I was surprised at what images were recovered. Images that were considerably old, and I hadn't used in months were still recovered. I didn't read any readme files or instruction manuals. There was nothing to figure out: very straight-forward. Most recently it seemed to hang after all the files were recovered, and it began an optional renaming process of the files. But the files had already been recovered, and I kept the assigned names. For me that doesn't negate the value of the product. I have never used the product to recover files from an actual hard disk, or to recover nikon raw format images.

this software is a mistake and a complete rip off. not to mention a lousy and insulting customer service from the company. i lost a file with images. i downloaded the demo and purchased the software online to recover this photographs. 1. i was unable to preview my nikon raw files while they state that this file is suported. 2. i lost ALL the remaining data on the hardrive i was recovering. not only the software couldnt recover my lost files but it lost all my other files!!! i am still dealing with this matter as i write this review, i am NOT HAPPY AT ALL.
