CleanArchiver overview

CleanArchiver is a simple and nifty archiving utility

It supports not only standard archive types such as gzip, bzip2, and zip, but also compressed Disk Image. In addition if the DropStuff application published by Allume Systems Inc. is installed on your system, CleanArchiver can create StuffIt and StuffIt X archives by calling DropStuff via AppleScript

Moreover CleanArchiver has the ability not to include system files peculiar to Mac OS X such as .DS_Store and custom icon file (Iconr) in your archive. So your archive is always clean on other operating systems

CleanArchiver powerfully supports you to create archives with various archive types and convenient options. Ultimately, just CleanArchiver is enough as the archiver put on your Dock

cleanarchiver is the perfect counterpart to the unarchiver. compresses files in an individual package or separated each in their own package (batch processing of individual items, any devs listening?), splitting, encryption, zip, 7zip, gz and dmg (support for a native os x format seems only natural in a osx app, any devs listening?), resource fork cleaning and all this by dragging and dropping or by the services menu. it processes and quits after execution, doesn't stay open in your dock like you wanna look at it doing nothing(any devs listening?). for those who wonder, i don't mean to be arrogant, i'm just frustrated when an app designer doesn't explore all the usage possibilities. os x is known to have half-baked apps, forcing you to use 2 or 3 to do 1 thing. btw, did i mention korean software is great?

Great App! Exactly what I needed - simple interface + drag ´n drop functionality !! forget about other bloated archiver or eye candy- appz. This is the one I´rather support to see it developed further! I´d like to see splitting archives, but nothing else. Thanks for making it freeware!

That's a absolute great app! From it's Blog, looks like it's hard to see a release version. I'm waiting the final v3.0...

Thanks! I've been looking a graphical zip archive utility that can encrypt files, works with Snow Leopard and is free. (See http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=939443 for the whole story.)

This app looks great. I love the archive individually option! Please add the option to set preferences for Disk Image Archive option. (Compression type, etc.)
