Einstein Platform overview

Einstein officially runs on macOS, iOS, and Ubuntu Linux with partial support for Android, Raspberry Pi, and Windows.

A Newton ROM file is required to run Einstein. We cannot distribute the ROM file. If you own a Newton device, you may be able to dump your own ROM file from it. See Dumping The Rom for more information.

Version 2017.1.0:
  • It's been a while! Here are some up-to-date binaries for macOS 10.8 and higher, and Ubuntu 16.
  • You don't need the dSYM file. It's only useful to Einstein developers for analyzing macOS crash reports.

Eh... stupid question: What is a Newton emulation good for if I use a Newton? My problem is that I can't get the connection with my Ethernet card running and sync my Newton calendar & address book with my OS X apps...

Absolutely fantastic. I don't really know what else to say. It works like a charm. One of the best apps made for the Mac, in my opinion. Long Live the Newton!
