formZ pro is a powerful 3D design application featuring a variety of modeling personalities and tools with an easy to use interface to express and communicate your imagination. It is based on advanced 3D solid and surface modeling methods that maintain accurate representations as you progress from design to visualization, layout, animation and fabrication.
formZ pro 8 is the latest version that introduces subdivision modeling as yet another modeling personality that enables the quick design and exploration of organic forms that originate from basic shapes. These forms are easily manipulated using a suite of subdivision tools that empower this new personality.

Improved Support for Point Clouds
Large color point clouds are now supported. This includes new import formats, improvements in the quailty and performance of point cloud display and a new Terrain From Points tool.
The dispay dot size for point clouds is automatically adjusted based on the density of the cloud and the zoom level. There may be times where it is desirable to have the dots displayed at a specific size. Pount Cloud Pixel Size is a new setting in the Interactive section of the display options for Shaded Work and Wireframe rendering modes. This setting can be used to set a specific dot size (regardless of the zoom level).

As Jmac says, formZ 'does get better and better'. It has the most complete polygonal modeling toolset available for a desktop computer. At version 4.0.3, formZ NURBS capabilities are on par with Rhino. With the release of formZ 4.0, the open and modular structure, which allows plugins and scripts, marks an exciting chapter in formZ history. The plugin and scripts capability should go along way in terms of improving rendering quality. Users always want additional features and with the soon to be released version 4.5, the formZ community will have full access to the plugin and scripts technology. Much has been said regarding the learning curve of this complex program. In short, if you want to tap into the very best in 3D modeling power, then purchasing formZ is a wise investment.

Had used this program along with others in college for Architecture. Found this to be a very reliable yet quick way to create 3D spaces for clients to be able to visualize concepts. This is not a top performer, however, it is much more easier and fatser to use other than Autocad or Microstation.
