Mori overview

Mori (formerly Hog Bay Notebook) is the notebook app for Mac users with lots to do. Mori is a digital notebook that makes it easy to record and organize your thoughts. Unlike the alternatives, Mori doesn't box you into one way of thinking. Instead Mori's simple and flexible design puts you in charge of your information.

It was sad day when Hogbay notebook changed from a text organizer to an outliner. It was a sad day when notebook was discontinued and Mori was introduced with a different file format. It was a sad day when Mori was sold to another developer. It was a sad day Mori didn't get developed much. It was a sad day when Mori ceased to exist. It is a sad day that no other app comes close to what was Hogbay notebook version 2! Idiots!

The developer recently posted the following message in his own support forum: I don't have a Mac compatible with Lion these days (actually, I don't even have a Mac), so I can't test and debug compatibility problems directly. I have to rely on the reports I get from users. That process is less than optimal. So I've reworked Mori's internals and hope that the cause has been eliminated. While I can't guarantee the new 1.6.13 release actually works well under Lion, it's reworked views does offer a distinct advantage to users: the ability to see outlines graphically and drag and drop entries from this tree view to other apps.

I used Mori years ago, but after the change in ownership I moved on. There were lots of promises that were never kept. Anyway I started putting action notes in OmniOutliner Pro, articles in DEVONthink Pro, info scraps in Notational Velocity, and private info in 1Password. I find stuff with Tembo and HoudahSpot. I recently started using Day One for a diary. You might want to check out Scrivener.
